Jacob Brodovsky is a singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba Treaty One Territory. In the tradition of other prairie songwriters, Jacob’s songs are humble yet intricate, and as humorous as they are heartbreaking. He writes songs about feelings, the people who have them, the places that create them, and the fears we have about them.

Jacob’s debut full length album I Love You and I’m Sorry features contributions from friends and heroes such as Jason Tait (The Weakerthans, Bahamas), Liam Duncan (Boy Golden, William Prince), Ashley Au (Super Duty Tough Work), Madeleine Roger, and Julie Penner (Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think). The album was produced in part through a mentorship with John K Samson.

The album earned earned Jacob a 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, brought him to tour Europe for a second time, and landed support slots for artists such as The Weather Station. Currently, Jacob is putting the finishing touches on his follow up full-length tentatively titled Will You Tell The Kids We Tried. The album was produced by Gavin Gardiner (Georgia Harmer, Dan Mangan, Rural Alberta Advantage) and Champagne James Robertson (Lindi Ortega, Ruben and the Dark).

There is nothing artificial or contrived about the music in any of the songs on I Love You and I’m Sorry. Every note which appears in every song on this album needs to be here. There is a power and a passion about the music which binds it together; it is beautiful and artful and is capable of the hearts of everyone who hears it.
